The end of this year’s Champions League group stage is just around the corner. This year marks the first Champions League in its new format, with 24 teams set to qualify. Some big teams, like Manchester City, are yet to secure qualification, adding excitement to the eight and final round.

Top Champions League Prediction №1. PSV Eindhoven vs Liverpool 29.01.25

Arne Slot’s Liverpool has already secured the top spot in the group heading into the final round. PSV, currently sitting in 19th place, must win to secure their qualification. The Reds will face Bournemouth three days later, and this is the match that matters the most. Rotations are expected, especially with the lack of squad depth.

With a +200 betting odds and PSV hosting the match, we’re likely to see inexperienced youngsters feature for Liverpool. This could provide opportunities for young talents like Harvey Elliott and Jarell Quansah.

On the other hand, PSV will miss Ryan Flamingo, as he was sent off in the match against Crvena Zvezda. The Dutch team proved their resilience in a tense 3-2 win against Crvena Zvezda, though they conceded two goals.

Pick: PSV to win (+200)

Top Champions League Prediction №2. Juventus vs Benfica 29.01.25

Juventus and Benfica, two Champions League giants, face a critical situation in their bid for knockout qualification due to recent mismanagement. Only two points separate Juventus (12 points) and Benfica (10 points), placing them in 17th and 21st, respectively. Given the financial troubles Juventus have faced in the past year, the qualification money is important ahead of next summer.

Thiago Motta’s side suffered their first Serie A defeat of the season against Napoli (2-1) on Saturday. However, with 13 draws in 22 matches, Motta has struggled to fully implement his ideas. PSG striker Kolo Muani was brought this winter to bolster the attack, while veteran Arkadiusz Milik has been struggling to stay fit.

Motta’s team has also faced similar struggles in the Champions League, winning three, losing one and drawing three. Juventus were held to a draw by Club Brugge (0-0). Juve dominated the match but was unable to pull the trigger in the final third.

Benfica are second in their domestic league, but have been unable to remain consistent in the Champions League. Their campaign featured a surprising 4-0 victory against Atlético de Madrid, and it seemed as if Benfica were going to defeat Barcelona. They were 3-1 up by half-time, but Hansi Flick’s side finally won the game 5-4.

One of the reasons why Benfica sometimes struggle is the absence of Angel Di Maria, whose age prevents him from playing two matches per week. As the creative leader of the team in the final third, his absence is felt.

Benfica surprisingly lost 3-1 to 6th-placed Casa Pia, despite dominating with 19 shots but lacking efficiency.

Both sides have struggled defensively, possibly making up for an exciting clash with many goals. However, with Kolo Muani’s arrival, Juventus are likely to take this one home, especially as the match is set to take place in Italy.

Pick: Juventus to win (+135)

Top Champions League prediction №3. Manchester City – Club Brugge 29.01.25

This wouldn’t be an interesting fixture if it wasn’t for Manchester City’s challenging season. Two years after winning their first Champions League title, the Citizens find themselves in an unprecedented crisis. They currently rank 25th which means they wouldn’t qualify for the knockout round after losing 4-2 to Paris Saint-Germain.

Under Pep Guardiola, Manchester City have rarely struggled to qualify for the knockouts, but Rodri’s injury has significantly impacted their form. While it may not be the only reason, it undoubtedly became the catalyst.

Pep’s team, famously defensively solid, has been anything but that. Against PSV and PSG, Manchester City attacked well but were unable to defend. They haven’t looked for midfielders in the market either.

As of now, the club has purchased Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush and Palmeiras forward Vitor Reis, another attacker. The club also splashed 37M on Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov, who was applauded in his first appearance for the Citizens.

Club Brugge are currently in 20th place, just inside the qualification zone for the knockouts. However, the four teams behind them only have one point less, meaning a defeat or draw may lead them below the 24th place.

The Belgians have been able to defeat decent sides (Sporting and Aston Villa), but were unable to do the same against better sides such as Milan and Dortmund. However, they drew to Juventus as they relied on defensive solidity.

Manchester City have been warned: If they don’t win, they are out of the competition. They are favoured by betting odds, given their superior individual quality.

Pick: Manchester City to win (-526)

Top Champions League prediction №4 Stade Brestois vs Real Madrid 29.01.25

With Brest in 13th and Real Madrid in 16th, only one point separates the two teams in the race for qualification. Real Madrid need a win to break into the top eight and secure a more favorable knockout fixture. They had a difficult season at the start, losing to AC Milan at home.

However, they will face Brest in France, who have excelled in the Champions League with a compact defense. Brest’s disciplined deep block could trouble Real Madrid, as they excel at blocking central channels and conceding possession strategically.

Pick: Real Madrid to win (+244)
