The Premier League is approaching its penultimate round, number 37. The title has already been decided in favour of Liverpool, but the race for the top four is still wide open. Several teams are pushing each other to make it to the top four, which will eventually accord them a place in the UEFA Champions League next season.
There have also been rumours of a fifth side being included in the continental competition next season, but teams will not want to take that risk, and push instead to come in the top four. Currently, Liverpool and Arsenal have booked their berths for the Champions League next season.

However, the likes of Manchester City, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Chelsea and Aston Villa are contending with each other for the final two berths. The side that comes fifth by the end of this campaign will hope and pray that the regulations from the organisers allow them to take part in the Champions League as well.
So, without any further ado, let us take a look at the top matches in round 37 of the Premier League and their predictions:
Top Premier League prediction №1. Chelsea vs Manchester United (Friday, May 16)
Perhaps the most contested game in this round will be the one between Chelsea and Manchester United. While the latter are ranked 16th in the league table, Chelsea are still contending for a top-four berth, and will go to great lengths to pick up a victory here. United are expected to field a rotational squad owing to their UEFA Europa League final next week and this will go to Chelsea’s advantage.
Manager Enzo Maresca will view this season as an utter failure if they do not make it to the Champions League this season, and United will go out of their way to spoil their opponents’ plans. Chelsea are currently fifth in the table.

United have been an enigmatic side this season – they have done poorly in the league but managed to make it to the final of the Europa League, where they will face-off against fellow English side Tottenham Hotspur.
New head coach Ruben Amorim has managed to get some time with his wards to allow them to grasp his philosophy, and one can only expect things to get better from here. Chelsea, with their long-ball philosophy, will be hard to contain, but United’s three-man backline will be more than ready for the task ahead of them.
Our pick: Chelsea to win (-256).
Top Premier League prediction №2. Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur (Friday, May 16)
Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur meet in Birmingham on Friday. While the home team are in the running for a top-four berth, Spurs are lucky not to get relegated this season, and are in the same boat as Manchester United. For Spurs, the sole aim in this game will be to negate the threat that the Villa attackers pose, and keep an eye on Ollie Watkins, the home team’s flamboyant centre-forward.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has surprisingly retained his job despite all travails, and the club’s owners will hope that he is able to lead them well in the Europa League final this season, which will be played against fellow Premier League side Manchester United (who too have fallen on hard times) in Bilbao, Spain.
Villa are currently sixth in the league table, but a win here with a big margin can propel them to the third position in the standings if other results elsewhere go their way. Spurs, meanwhile, languish in the 17th spot of the table, just one position above the relegation zone. Marcus Rashford’s hamstring injury, however, will worry Villa and hamper their photo finish to the top four. Nonetheless, Villa have a massive upper hand owing to their high-pressing tactics under Unai Emery.
Our pick: Aston Villa to win (-263)
Top Premier League prediction №3. Arsenal vs Newcastle United (Sunday, May 18)
Arsenal host Newcastle United in a classic Sunday clash at the Emirates Stadium in London. For the home team, qualifying for the Champions League next season is a mere formality, but they will not wish to take things for granted. With Mikel Merino suspended and Declan Rice a doubtful starter, this game could get tricky for Mikel Arteta’s men if they take Newcastle lightly.

As always, Alexander Isak will be the dangerman for the visiting side. The fact that Newcastle have beaten Arsenal three times in a row will give the visiting side a lot of confidence ahead of this fixture.
Plus, being ranked third in the standings, just one spot below their opponents, will provide enough motivation to Eddie Howe’s men to put their best foot forward.
The Magpies are known for their use of the wings to build up play in the attacking third, and the same will be on display against Arsenal as well. Nonetheless, it will be a challenge to get in behind the lines that the Gunners’ central defenders and fullbacks maintain so well, and have become renowned across the Premier League for.
Our pick: Arsenal to win or draw (1.27)
Top Premier League prediction №4. Brighton and Hove Albion vs Liverpool (Monday, May 19)
Title winners Liverpool travel to the south of England to take on Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium. What could have been a happy reunion of former Red James Milner will prove to be a dampener as he has been sidelined for Brighton in this game. The former Liverpool midfielder, known for his stellar work ethic, has spent much of this season on the physio’s bench.
However, Brighton, who are ranked ninth in the league table, know that they are not even with an outside shot of making it to the UEFA Europa League if they win their next couple of matches and other results elsewhere go in their favour.

Still, this game will be important for them as they have to showcase to their legion of supporters that they can put up their best showing even against the mighty Liverpool.
For the visitors, Mohamed Salah will be expected to add to his tally of goals, while manager Arne Slot takes a look at the others in his squad who did not get too many chances in this campaign. This game will also be vital for the youngsters in the Liverpool squad as they may be given an opportunity.
Our pick: Liverpool to win or draw (-222)
Top Premier League prediction №5. Manchester City vs Bournemouth (Tuesday, May 20)
Manchester City would not have believed themselves had they known that they would be struggling for a Champions League berth this season after being the defending champions of the Premier League. Currently, they are ranked fourth in the standings and are expected to make it if they win their next couple of matches.
Manager Pep Guardiola, who is known to emphasise a lot on short passes and wing-play, has been put in a fix this season owing to Liverpool’s superiority, and will have to deliver big-time in order to gain qualification for Europe next season.
As for Bournemouth, the way they started the season suggested that they would be in the race to at least make it to the Europa League, but their performances have tapered off lately, placing them in the 10th position of the league table.
Despite Justin Kluivert standing out with his performances, the Cherries have struggled with consistency this season and have won just two out of their last five league games. Manchester City, meanwhile, have won four out of their last five matches and seem to have hit form at the right time. With Erling Haaland returning from injury, their attacking unit appears to have gained a new set of teeth.
Our pick: Manchester City to win (-189).
