The LA Clippers currently find themselves sitting at eight in the Western Conference, a true middle-of-the-pack team. After losing three straight, twice to the Lakers, the Clippers beat out the Pistons in their last showing, but that’s a team they should beat every day of the week.

James Harden has continued to direct the offence to the best of his abilities, with Normal Powell and Kawhi Leonard providing scoring and some much needed defence. Powell has been shooting at a great clip while Harden still averages a stellar 8.6 assists a game alongside 22.1 points.
Leonard hasn’t really had the impact many hoped, as he is scoring just 18.1 points per game on 28.5 minutes—a steep dropoff from the Klaw we once knew. Moreover, with Powell’s injury, their offensive output is really going to suffer.
That being said, against the Knicks, they should have a great chance at taking home the dub nonetheless, as the Clippers have been hot at home.

The New York Knicks currently sit as the third seed in the Eastern Conference, winning 6 of their last 10 games but unfortunately losing to any title contender they played. The duo of Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns has proved to be quite successful in the regular season, but they really need to clutch up during crunch time.

Bruson has been averaging a solid 26.1 points per game alongside 7.4 assists and a steal while KAT has been providing some fantastic defence down low to go alongside 24.5 points and 13.4 rebounds. Alongside the two stars, they have a decent bench, especially with OG Anunoby locking up on the defensive side of the ball.
Nonetheless, they are likely going to struggle against the Clippers, as their ability to spread the floor will be tough for KAT to keep up with, and Anunoby, who’s famous for locking up guards, may struggle with Harden.

The LA Clippers, fresh off a win against the Pistons. Face off against the Pelicans at home, trying to push their home-game winning streak to 3 games. James Harden and Kawhi Leonard will likely be tasked with pulling up the slack from the missing Normal Powell, as he’s been declared out for the game with a hamstring injury.
Nonetheless, their scoring output should be pretty high, as Leonard does have the ability to turn it on when he needs to, and even though he will likely be slowed down, Ivica Zubac should be able to put down at least 15-20 points.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Clippers still aren’t the strongest and will likely struggle scoring on the inside. But with Harden and Leonard averaging 1.5 and 1.2 steals a piece, their pressure on the perimeter should be decent.
However, the Knicks certainly won’t roll over easily, as Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson have managed to push the Knicks to a third seed in the East. Brunson has been huge on the perimeter with 7.4 assists and some great shooting splits while KAT holds it down on the inside and draws a ton of defenders with his gravity on the offensive side of the ball.

Anunoby will also likely try and stick to Harden to hopefully limit his scoring output and give a break to some of the other guards. His presence in passing lanes even beyond the arch is huge.
Nonetheless, the Clippers still have a sizable advantage even without Powell, especially on their home turf. Harden will likely be a little too shifty for Anunoby while Leonard and the athletic Clippers bench provide some much needed scoring.
If KAT is massive down low, they could potentially capitalize on this, but Zubac isn’t a pushover by any means, so that’s unlikely.

Considering how important he is on the offensive side of the ball, his size will likely be used to attack the weaker inside defence of the Clippers. With this, his usage rate will likely increase, along with his scoring, as they attempt to push to the number two seed in the East.

Unfortunately for the Knicks, they haven’t been terribly clutch so far this year, while both Kawhi Leonard and James Harden have made names for themselves based on fourth quarter performances. With their scoring output, winning the second half will be tough for the Knicks, especially in the fourth quarter.
