He left the club for Dutch side FC Utrecht, having only featured in 9 games, without any goals. Leganés haven’t found a replacement yet and are still in the market for appropriate options.

However, the start of the season was difficult, with a 4-0 defeat in the Champions League against Benfica leading to radical change. Simeone revived the 4-4-2 formation, which in turn brought a better version of Julián Álvarez.
