Business picks up in the Champions League this week, as the round of 16 gets underway. The first legs will take place across Tuesday and Wednesday, before the return fixtures take place just seven days later.

Home advantage will be key for Real Madrid and Bayern Munich as they face off against domestic rivals Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen. You can find our picks for this week’s first leg ties here.

Top Champions League prediction №1. Real Madrid vs. Atletico Madrid (04/03/25)

Spanish heavyweights collide in the round of 16 this week. Real and Atletico have collided on ten previous occasions, with Los Blancos progressing on all five occasions when the sides have met in the knockout round.

The fact that Carlo Ancelotti’s side will have the home field advantage is challenging to overlook.

Real Madrid have lost just one of their last 17 knockout stage matches, and they are unbeaten across their last nine since a 4-0 away defeat against Manchester City in the 2022-23 semi-finals.

Pick: Real Madrid (-113)

Top Champions League prediction №2 PSV vs Arsenal (04/03/25)

Mikel Arteta’s hopes of winning silverware this season will hinge on Champions League success. However, it would be a key concern before making selections that Arsenal have failed to win in their last four on the road against PSV. Arsenal’s only away win against PSV was achieved in September 2002.

PSV’s consistent performances in the Champions League this season have caught the eye, and they were good value in gaining progression when overcoming Juventus in the previous round. Their home advantage could be key once again against an Arsenal side that have little spark in the final third.

Pick: PSV (+258)

Top Champions League prediction №3. Feyenoord vs Inter Milan (05/03/25)

Feyenoord and Inter Milan will collide for the third time in a European competition on Wednesday. The Dutch hosts boast an excellent home record against Italian sides, having lost just once across their last 12. However, it is also noted that Inter Milan have gone eleven without defeat against Dutch sides in UEFA competitions.

Last week Feyenoord appointed Robin van Persie as their new head coach, who took over the reigns from interim Pascal Bosschaart, who stepped in after Brian Priske was fired due to poor results in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Inter Milan are a leading dark horse pick for Champions League glory this season, and the competition has opened up their route to success. We expect them to put one foot in the last eight with a professional display on the road on Wednesday.

Pick: Inter Milan (-167)

Top Champions League prediction №4. Bayern Munich vs Bayer Leverkusen (05.03.25)

German rivals Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen will collide in a UEFA competition for the first time. It will also be the first time that Bayern Munich have faced a team from their own country since beating Borussia Dortmund in the 2013 Champions League final.

Xabi Alonso has enjoyed a strong record against Bayern Munich, with Leverkusen unbeaten in their last six against Vincent Kompany’s side. However, Bayern Munich look good value to showcase their excellent home record after losing just once in their last eleven at the Allianz Arena at this stage of the competition.

Pick: Bayern Munich (-129)

Top Champions League №5. PSG vs Liverpool (05/03/25)

The most dominant teams in France and England collide in the round of 16 of the Champions League this season. Liverpool have failed to win in their last five away matches against French teams in UEFA competition, but Arne Slot does boast an unbeaten record against teams from Ligue 1 across European tournaments.

PSG have been in excellent attacking form across recent weeks, and their form is also strong in the Champions League after winning five on the bounce and scoring 21 goals across that period. Home advantage could be crucial on Wednesday, meaning that we will be siding with PSG taking a slender lead back to Anfield.

Pick: PSG (+141)
