But now, Los Rojiblancos sit just one point behind their fierce rivals, Real Madrid, and three points behind league leaders Barcelona.
Atlético last suffered a defeat against Real Betis at the end of October, losing 1-0. Since then, they’ve recorded nine consecutive victories across all competitions.
