Philadelphia 76ers vs Toronto Raptors Preview and Team News
Philadelphia 76ers Team News
The Philadelphia 76ers have been disappointing this year, to say the least, currently sitting 11th in the Eastern Conference.
Joel Embiid has continued to struggle with injury, keeping him out of the roster and therefore keeping the 76ers out of any type of competitive position. However, with the struggles, Tyrese Maxey has continued to see an incredibly high usage rate, helping out the young star and hopefully putting him in a good position.

Maxey has been leading the team not only in scoring but assists and steals as well, trying his best to get some wins without much support. Unfortunately, Paul George has continued to regress, averaging just 16.6 points a night, a far cry from his all-star days.
The 76ers should have an advantage going into Tuesday’s game, but if they fall apart on the defensive side of the ball, the young Raptors could walk away with it. Philadelphia really has to stay vigilant on both sides of the ball if they want the dub.
Toronto Raptors Team News
The Toronto Raptors have been about as good as most people expected going into the 2024-2025 season, sitting just below .500 and really trying to grow their young stars.
RJ Barrett has continued to take a larger and larger role on both sides of the ball while Scottie Barnes has been far more stagnant than many people had hoped. Nonetheless, the two young stars have been averaging some decent numbers; they’re just not deadly yet.

Barrett has been leading the team with 21.6 points a night, while Barnes averages a solid 19.9 points, 6.4 assists, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.5 steals a game. They don’t pack the same punch as some other rosters, but if you sleep on them, they could torch you.
The Raptors really have their work cut out for them going into the game against the 76ers, but if they manage to keep the tempo up, they could walk away with it.
Philadelphia 76ers vs Toronto Raptors Prediction
- Pick: Philadelphia 76ers to win
- Odds: -371 (20Bet)
- Score prediction: Memphis Grizzlies 129 – 123 Houston Rockets
While Joel Embiid is still a maybe for Tuesday’s game, the 76ers should still have the advantage, as they have a deeper bench along with Tyrese Maxey. Maxey has been dominant over the last 10 games, with 33.9 points and 7.1 assists on 52.4% shooting from the field. He likely won’t run into much resistance with the Raptors, further boosting his scoring numbers.
Moreover, if Embiid managed to play, it will probably be one sides throughout all four quarters, and the Raptors have absolutely no answer for the big guy down low. If you double or triple Embiid, Maxey will torch you with his 40.4% shooting from beyond the arch, and if you don’t double him… well, as Shaq always said, “Barbeque Chicken.”

We also can’t forget about Paul George and his veteran presence down the stretch, as he’s helped the 76ers in the crunch time before. His 16.6 points may not be game-changing, but he’s still a consistent scorer night in and out.
That isn’t to say the Raptors are dead in the water, though, as the young athletic roster could give the 76ers a run for their money in transition. Scottie Barnes’s incredible athleticism is still a major factor, and that’s not to mention RJ Barrett.
Where Toronto will likely struggle is in the half-court, both defensively and offensively. Again, this does depend on whether or not Embiid plays, but slashing will be quite hard regardless, and Maxey and George both play the lanes, with help-side defence coming in most cases.

All in all, as long as Philly plays their game and doesn’t get sucked into the same tempo as the Raptors, they should have a solid chance at pushing their wins to 21 on the season.
Philadelphia 76ers vs Toronto Raptors Prediction, Betting Tip
- Pick: Scottie Barnes to score 20.5 or more
- Odds: -115 (20Bet)
Scottie Barnes should see a decently high usage rate going into the game against the 76ers, especially if Embiid plays. His length and athleticism are going to be key to the Raptor’s success in the game, and he’s averaged more than 20.5 against Philly so far this year.
- Pick: Joel Embiid to score 27.5 or more
- Odds: -117 (20Bet)
If Joel Embiid plays against Toronto, the Raptors will have really no answer for him down low, as his massive frame and strength make him a matchup nightmare. You have to double him if he manages to get position, and even then you’re really just slowing him down, not stopping him.
