Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who is on loan at Turkish club Galatasaray, is currently one of the best attackers in the world. Known for his strong physical presence inside the box, he’s consistently shown why he can be relied upon to perform in any situation.
The 26-year-old is primarily used as a target man by most managers he works with, but has also shown enough skill to negate opposition attackers with the ball at his feet. Osimhen is good in one-on-one situations and likes to make his way into the final third by finding space for himself.

The Nigerian is known for his direct approach towards scoring goals, and can be trusted to find the back of the net even when up against the best of the world’s defenders. At the same time, Osimhen’s approach while being off the ball makes him a highly sought-after commodity in the transfer market.
He’s been in fine form for Galatasaray this season, netting on 20 occasions in 27 appearances so far. Fourteen of these goals have come in the Super Lig while he scored the remaining six in the UEFA Europa League. He’s been a powerful presence for the Turkish club up front.

Although he’s expected to return to Napoli at the end of the season, where he scored 17 goals in 2023-24, 31 in 2022-23, and 18 goals in 2021-22, a lot of top European clubs will be vying for his signature. Some of these include heavyweights like Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Victor Osimhen will add a lot of value to Manchester United
At Manchester United, Osimhen would add a lot of value as the club don’t have a top striker in their ranks. The Red Devils could do with someone more accomplished in their final third as they currently have to make do with the likes of Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund, who, despite being skilful, are still very young and inexperienced.
There is no doubt whatsoever that Osimhen will be a welcome presence at Old Trafford as he can slot in comfortably with the system and philosophy that head coach Ruben Amorim preaches. He’d play at the top of the tree with balls being fed into him through crosses and long passes.
🚨 Manchester United observers have been keen to ensure that Victor Osimhen remains fully engaged, high-energy and ready to make an impact, should he join United. It is understood the reports have reflected him in a positive light. #MUFC [@DeanJonesSoccer] pic.twitter.com/9ueknTxxGC

Osimhen’s style of play would suit United well, and with the form he’s displayed in the last few seasons, he’d be expected to top the scoring charts there too. Manchester United have been without an out-and-out striker since Romelu Lukaku and Edinson Cavani, and would welcome Osimhen with open arms.
At Chelsea, Osimhen will have to adjust to a new style of playing, which involves a lot of short passes. If the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson remain at the club next season, Osimhen will have to fight for a spot in the starting XI.

Add to that the young Marc Guiu who is making his way through the ranks. Manager Enzo Maresca has brought about winds of change at Chelsea this season, and, in all likelihood, will continue next season as well.
However, the competition for a place in the starting XI will not attract Osimhen to the Chelsea project given that he’s an established star who would like to be assured of a spot.
How will Victor Osimhen fare at Arsenal?
Arsenal are another club that might be keen on signing Osimhen in the Summer window. Although they’re currently going through an injury crisis when it comes to their attackers, one hopes that they’ll be alright when the new campaign begins. The likes of Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, and Kai Havertz are all incapacitated at the moment.
However, most of these players will be expected to return by the time the new season starts, and if Osimhen arrives at the Emirates, he’d have to compete with them for a spot in the starting XI. The Napoli star would not want to come off the bench, with manager Mikel Arteta calling all the shots.

Arsenal also like to play with a fluid forward line, with no set role for the centre-forward. They sometimes experiment with a false number nine as well, and this may not go down well with Osimhen, as he is a proper, old-fashioned out-and-out centre-forward who likes to take defenders on.
Keeping in mind all permutations and combinations, it’s clear that Osimhen will be an ideal fit for Manchester United. The club, however, have to make room for him in the dressing room by selling other players who draw big wages but contribute little to the team’s cause. Nonetheless, Osimhen will be welcome at Old Trafford.
