The Serie A, Italy’s premier football league, is widely contested by clubs aiming for glory. While it was dominated by Juventus in the past, several other clubs have come up trumps in recent times and dismantled the long-term hold the Turinians had over it. That the league is growing can be seen by the fact that Juventus, who are considered to be perhaps the best team in the league with 36 titles, last won it in 2019-20. Since then, three different teams have won the four times the league has been conducted. This proves that football is being democratised in Italy.

Antonio Conte, who previously managed Chelsea, has instilled in Napoli an organisation in defence that is hard to find in any other club in the Serie A. They have also conceded just 15 goals at the time of writing, which is the least by any team in the same division.
With Romelu Lukaku leading from the top, Napoli have a big chance of winning the Scudetto this season. Having last won it in 2022-23, the Blues will hope that they are able to overturn any late twist of misfortune and keep putting a lot of emphasis on their defence. If they continue accumulating clean sheets, they will have an easy road ahead.

Although they sit three points adrift of the league leaders Napoli, Inter have played one game less than their rivals and will be expected to make amends by the time the entire campaign has been played. Simone Inzaghi has forced his wards to be disciplined in attack and defence, and the results have also gone in their favour.
Inter will be proud of the fact that their local rivals AC Milan are not in the race and that they do not have to constantly look over their shoulder for their presence. Inter have also won the title twice in the last four seasons, and if they do so this time around as well, it will establish their authority over Italian football.
