FIFA World Cup 2022 Betting Odds Favourites From 20Bet

14/11/2022 | Football

There are only a few days remaining before the FIFA World Cup 2022 kicks off in Qatar on November 20. This is the first time that a World Cup is being hosted in the Middle East and also the first time in the winter of a European season.

A total of 32 teams will be seen taking part in the tournament, with hosts Qatar playing the opening game against Ecuador at the Al Bayt Stadium on November 19. The group games are going to be played across eight stadia, including Al Bayt Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Al Thumama Stadium, Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Lusail Stadium, Ras Abu Aboud Stadium, Education City Stadium, Al Janoub Stadium.

This World Cup is also going to be one of the biggest betting events ever played, with punters across the world ready to bet on thousands of games and outright events daily.

Favourites to win FIFA World Cup 2022

Bookies are tipping Brazil and Argentina as the favourites to win the World Cup. Brazil had an almost perfect qualifying campaign whereas Argentina is on a 35-game unbeaten run as well.

France is also strong contender to win this event as they will try to defend their title. But they have been hit by some major injuries and their performance in the campaign will depend a lot on how they start the tournament. England is also one of the favourites, even though they haven’t won any major trophy in about 50 years.

Apart from them, Uruguay and Denmark are being seen as dark horses as well. Both are in-form sides who have a history of doing well in big tournaments.

World Cup 2022 outright odds from 20Bet

4/1: Brazil

11/2: Argentina

6/1: France

8/1: England

17/2: Spain

10/1: Germany

World Cup 2022 Golden Boot Contenders

Harry Kane is the favourite to win the Golden Boot once again after winning the award in 2018. He is expected to nag a big haul in England’s tournament opener against Iran itself. Neymar Jr Aldo looks like a good bet as Brazil is expected to go deep into the tournament. Kylian Mbappe from France is also an obvious choice owing to his goal-scoring prowess.

But Lautaro Martinez, with odds of 27/1 is probably the best bet among all as he is expected to lead the frontline for Argentina, who are also expected to go deep like Brazil. Lionel Messi will be an obvious choice once again along with Martinez.

Group Winner Odds From 20Bet

Group A

4/9: Netherlands

9/2: Senegal

11/2: Ecuador

10/1: Qatar

Netherlands are expected to top Group A as they boast of a quality side with players like Virgil van Dijk, Memphis Depay, Frankie de Jong and Mathijs de Ligt in it. Senegal is the only team who could botch their hopes of finishing at the top of the group but the quality core of the Dutch team should see them through.

Group B

4/11: England

11/2: USA

11/2: Wales

14/1: Iran

England is the outright favourites to top this group. They are expected to win their opening fixture against Iran comprehensively and another win against either USA or Wales will see them through to the round of 16. Wales also has a great chance of qualifying for the next stage in case they manage to beat the USA.

Group C

2/5: Argentina

9/2: Poland

9/2: Mexico

25/1: Saudi Arabia

Argentina is expected to win all three games in this group. They are coming into this event on the back of a 35-game unbeaten run and they will be looking to extend that streak further. Poland and Mexico have equal chances of qualifying for the next stage but Mexico probably stands a better chance as Poland is a bit over-reliant on Robert Lewandowski’s exploits.

Group D

2/5:France

11/4: Denmark

12/1: Australia

16/1: Tunisia

Even though they are going into the tournament with some major injury concerns, the defending Champions are still expected to top this group. They can win all of their three encounters but Denmark does have the potential to surprise them. Denmark is the other team that is expected to go into the next round along with France.

Group E

10/11: Spain

11/10: Germany

10/1: Japan

50/1: Costa Rica

Spain and Germany will fight it out among themselves to claim the top spot in the group. Fixtures against Japan and Costa Rica will be quite easy ones for them but their match on November 27 will probably decide the topper from Group E.

Group F

1/2:Belgium

5/2: Croatia

11/1: Morocco

11/1: Canada

Belgium has enough quality and experience in their ranks to see them finish at the top of Group F. Croatia are worthy contenders to claim the top spot as well but the Belgian side has more quality in offense, which will give them the edge over Croatia in their contest. Croatia obviously has the ability to go into the round of 16 along with Belgium.

Group G

2/5: Brazil

5/1: Switzerland

11/2: Serbia

11/1: Cameroon

Brazil is the favourites to finish at the top of Group G and also the favourites to win the World Cup. Switzerland has a talented squad at their disposal as well but they aren’t mighty enough to take down Brazil. So, they will be expected to settle for a second-place finish from this group.

Group H

8/13: Portugal

2/1: Uruguay

11/1: South Korea

11/1: Ghana

Portugal and Uruguay are likely to go through to the round of 16 from Group H. While Portugal is the favourites to finish at the top, Uruguay isn’t a bad wager either as they are full of young attacking talent like Darwin Nunez, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Federico Valverde. The clash between these two sides is going to be quite interesting.
